"Strawberry ice cake" made with milk carton

May 14th is Mother's Day. I found a recipe that I can recommend to people who say, "I want to give my mom homemade sweets, but I don't have time!" It is a "strawberry ice cake" that can be made with a milk carton with a cooking time of about 15 minutes (excluding the time required for freezing).

The recipe introduced on the site of the jam brand "Aohata". The appeal is that you can mix strawberry jam (150g (5.29oz)), cream (200cc), and biscuits (80g (2.82oz)), pack them in an empty milk carton (500ml (16.91us fl oz)), and freeze them in the freezer for 6 hours. Even the author, who is unfamiliar with making sweets, was able to finish making it in no time.

There are only three ingredients: jam, cream, and crushed biscuits.

When it hardens in the freezer, remove it from the milk carton. The ice cake sticks perfectly to the milk carton, so cut it with scissors and peel it off. A pale pink rectangular parallelepiped object emerges from inside.

After taking it out, slice it with a kitchen knife. I'm worried that it's frozen in a tick, but when I pressed the knife vertically, it cut unexpectedly smoothly. If you put it on a plate and add mint leaves, you will have a gorgeous plate that you can't imagine made with a milk carton!

By the way, the taste you are interested in is ... The mouthfeel is smooth, somewhere between ice cream and sorbet. Although it uses plenty of fresh cream and jam, it is not dull or sweet and can be eaten in pieces. And the biscuits that have absorbed the water from the ice cream have a moist and fluffy texture. It is a good supporting role that does not interfere with the taste of ice cream.

Not too sweet and has a gentle taste

I tried this recipe for the first time, but I realized that it tasted like I had eaten in the past. It's similar to strawberry-flavored Pocky! The combination of the gentle sweetness of strawberry milk and the simple flavor of biscuits is just like that. Although it looks gorgeous, it was a taste that made me feel nostalgic.

A simple ice cake that requires less cooking time, less tools, and less washing. I think you can use blueberry jam or marmalade instead of strawberry jam for a beautiful finish, so why not try it with your favorite jam? Please check the "Aohata" site for details on how to make it.
