Three people, three people! Eat and compare hot cake mixes from popular supermarkets--Seijo Ishii is moist and Tomizawa Shoten is a royal taste

I want to eat delicious hot cakes without having to line up at the cafe!

Panques have caused a big boom in the Japanese sweets world, and there are still many cafes in line. There are a wide variety of commercially available mixed powders so that you can enjoy the authentic taste at home.

But does the hot cake mix have different tastes depending on the price? I think the ones in it are almost the same ... I was curious, this time I tried and compared the "a little rich" original mix of high-end supermarkets and confectionery material stores! Please refer to the differences between each company below.

I compared the powder from popular stores!

We prepared mixed powder from 3 stores, "Seijo Ishii", "Kinokuniya" and "Tomizawa Shoten". There is almost no difference in the price per gram in each case, which is about 2 to 3 times that of major manufacturers. Create using the same milk, eggs and frying pan as described on each package. * Some manufacturers define the difference between panques and hotcakes by the amount and thickness of sugar, but this article treats them as the same.

Cook with the same ingredients

Hoi,

Kinokuniya where the deliciousness of powder stands out

First of all, Kinokuniya's "Panque Mix". 450g (15.87oz), 499 yen (excluding tax, the same applies below).

A mixed flour that uses 100% Hokkaido flour. By the way, there was also a "hot cake mix" in the confectionery corner, but I chose this because it had less additives and was pushed in the shop.

It is divided into easy-to-use 150g (5.29oz) pieces, and the Kinokuniya logo is cute.

Convenient for sharing

One bag is equivalent to about 3 ladles, and although it is the thinnest of the three types, its cross section is bulging with air firmly in it. It is not as chewy as it is written, and has a moist and smooth texture. The sweetness was extremely modest, and I felt the best flavor of the dough when eaten as it was. It went well with the saltiness of butter, so I thought it would be delicious as a "meal panque".

In a word, "elegant"

Tomizawa Shoten of "The Royal Road"

"Hot cake mix" is popular at Tomizawa Shoten, which sells confectionery ingredients and ingredients from around the world. The price is around 500 yen for 500g (17.64oz). I was instructed to let it sit for about 10 minutes after mixing.

You can buy it at stores and online shops

Let it sit for about 10 minutes and you'll see bubbles!

The biggest feature is the sweet vanilla scent that drifts with a thick baking of about 2 cm. It has a fluffy texture like a sponge cake and melts in your mouth. Although the sweetness is not strong, the aroma is strong, so it seems good to enjoy this as a sweet.

200g (7.05oz) is 3 cups plus a little less than 1 cup. Great value ants?

Softness close to sponge cake

Is Seijo Ishii's claim weaker?

The last is Seijo Ishii's "Hot cake mix using 100% domestic wheat". It contains 400g (14.11oz), and the price at the time of purchase is 329 yen. It is an easy-to-use 200g (7.05oz) pack.

Like Tomizawa Shoten, it is thickly baked. The cross section is fluffy, but it has a strong moist feeling and is responsive to eating. It may be more like bread than cake. In a standing position just like the middle of the previous two, it seemed to complement the toppings in a good way without any claims.

Moist and more satisfying

All three restaurants have their own individuality at a high level, and I enjoyed eating and comparing them very much. My personal preference was Kinokuniya , but the sweetness is modest and you can fully season it with your favorite syrup and toppings, which is an irresistible point for hot cake lovers. You can get delicious jams and syrups at each store, so why not buy a variety of them and enjoy your hot cake at home?
